About the Bible
The Bible is supernaturally inspired and divinely preserved by God.
It is our authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
About God
There is one God. He exists eternally and reveals Himself in three
persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created the universe by divine
command, from nothing, without evolutionary processes. (Matthew
3:16-17; Genesis 1; John 1:3)
About Jesus Christ
Jesus was fully God and man, born of a virgin, and lived without
sin. He was crucified, shed His blood, and died to pay the penalty of
our sin. He was raised bodily from the dead on the third day and
ascended to Heaven. He is returning personally to the earth as King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, Hebrews 1:1-8; 1 Peter
2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4;
Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 19:11-16)
About Salvation
Salvation is a gift, received by faith, when we personally believe
in Jesus Christ as Savior. Salvation is by God's grace, without works of
any kind from the one believing. The one saved is eternally secure in
Christ. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9;
John 10:28)
About the Christian Life
Every Christian should unite with a local church for worship,
growth, and Christian service; maintain a walk with God through personal
Bible study and prayer, separate from sin, and seek to win others to
Christ. (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Peter 2:1-3;
Proverbs 3:7; 2 Timothy 2:19; 2 Corinthians 5:20) |
